Jill (Tune) Faulkner
SECRETARY
Tune Faulkner lives in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont on 65 acres of land. She heard about Karmê Chöling in the mid 1980’s when she was living off the grid and raising a family about 40 minutes away. Going to a meditation retreat at that time was not in the cards, but the interest was there and many years later she was able to start taking programs at Karmê Chöling. Tune completed the Shambhala Training path and continued on to Scorpion Seal. Staffing many, many programs kept her connected to the heart of the Buddhist teachings and she continues to do so currently.
Finding the land and gardens at Karmê Chöling to be quite beautiful, and having experience with landscaping, Tune agreed to take care of the flower beds and trees close to the Main House for nine years until Covid-19 no longer allowed non-residents to be on the land.
Prior to her recent retirement, Tune worked at the St. Johnsbury Community Restorative Justice Center facilitating reparative panels with volunteers from the community who sat on panels to hear criminal cases. A restorative approach was used, which meshed nicely with the Shambhala Buddhist principles.
Tending her own gardens in the summer, skiing in the winter, and taking care of her two year old granddaughter now occupy most of Tune’s time.
